Plan the storefront for recognition and entry
Identify the first view of the business, the entrance customers should use and the information they need before walking inside. Keep the main identity clear, use door graphics for hours or essential details, and give promotional messages their own space. Send photos from the parking approach as well as close-ups of the windows and building surface.
Treat a promotion differently from a permanent sign
An opening announcement or seasonal window graphic may need to be removed or replaced soon, while the building identity is intended to stay. Specify the campaign period, replacement frequency and removal expectations before selecting materials. Sandy publishes separate resources for permanent and temporary signs; check the applicable local process for the proposed sign rather than assuming all graphics follow the same route.
Bring landlord criteria into the design discussion
A leased storefront may have approved sign zones, style requirements or other property criteria. Share that information with the address, artwork and intended dimensions. If illumination is being considered, identify power and service access and agree the responsibilities for any electrical work. Final fabrication should follow the reviewed design and any required approvals, not run ahead of them.
Budget for the complete opening or refresh
Include the exterior identity, windows, interior branding and customer directions in the item list. Old-sign removal, adhesive cleanup, surface repairs and installation access can affect the total beyond print or fabrication. For a phased opening, identify which messages must be ready first. Project coordination is through VG’s published Salt Lake City office; this page does not imply a separate Sandy location.
MATERIALS & APPROACHES
Find the right fit.
A few useful answers.
Can permanent and temporary signs be quoted together?+
Yes. List them separately with the intended service period and installation date. Their materials, approval steps and removal needs may differ even when the artwork follows one brand.
Can I reuse the former tenant’s sign cabinet?+
The construction, condition and compatibility need review. Send photos, dimensions and available product information so reuse and replacement can be compared honestly.
How should we plan around an opening date?+
Provide the public opening date and the earlier date when installation access will be available. Artwork, materials, property review and site readiness all belong in the schedule.
