Plan a Salt Lake City sign project

A useful quote starts with the space, the message and the deadline. You do not need a finished specification to contact Vision Graphics, but a few clear inputs help the team recommend suitable options and identify the decisions that affect price and timing.

1. Describe the job each sign must do

Explain who needs to see it, from where and what they should understand. Include the project address, the municipality and whether the sign is inside or outside. Distinguish permanent identity from short-term campaign graphics.

2. Gather photos, sizes and artwork

Take one wide photograph showing the surroundings and closer photographs of the mounting surface. Rough dimensions are enough for an initial conversation; final production sizes require confirmation. Send vector logos when available and flag any colors or finishes that require physical sample approval.

3. Agree the scope and responsibilities

Separate design, fabrication, shipping, removal, installation and specialist tasks. Identify the property approver and any contractor, electrician or venue contact. For exterior work, check the applicable requirements before fabrication; a postal city name alone does not determine jurisdiction.

4. Approve the details that will be produced

Review wording, dimensions, placement, materials and finish references together. A digital rendering helps explain appearance but does not verify a substrate or guarantee an exact viewed color. Keep the final proof and the accepted specification with the order.

5. Prepare the site and confirm handover

Confirm access, surface readiness and the installation date. Record the installed sign locations, product care guidance and any updateable components. For a repeat program, keep an organized sign schedule so later orders begin with the approved version.

MATERIALS & APPROACHES

Find the right fit.

Early concept

Photos, a rough sketch and a business goal are enough to begin discussing options.

Defined project

Plans, dimensions and a sign list allow a more specific production and installation scope.

Repeat program

Approved specifications and artwork reduce setup work while site-specific differences are checked.

Where it can work

  • First-time sign buyers
  • Design and construction teams
  • Facilities managers
  • Multi-site marketing teams

A few useful answers.

Can I get a price from a photograph?+

A photograph can support an initial range or a request for more information. A firm quote needs the relevant dimensions, materials, quantities and access conditions.

How long will the project take?+

Timing depends on artwork approval, materials, fabrication, property approvals and site access. Ask for a schedule that identifies these dependencies rather than relying on a generic turnaround claim.

Who handles sign permits?+

Agree this explicitly in the scope. Salt Lake City publishes a sign-permit form through Building Services; other municipalities have their own processes. Confirm the applicable requirements and responsible applicant for the actual address.
